In this course, you will be introduced to cyber security and data privacy for your small business. You will learn about the business risk based on unique business type and explore best practices for implementing security controls. You will also learn about the security and privacy compliance (following the rules/laws) in North America and what a vendor’s responsibility is.

By the end of the course, you will:

• Recognize the need for cyber security and data privacy for businesses operating out of or doing business in Canada.
• Identify different threats and types of cyber attacks on business.
• Explain the importance of having a cyber security policy in place and use best practices to lower risk.
• Recognize your role and responsibility in product security, and how and why your business type, size, and industry affect your risk profile.
